Buying a dress like this was admittedly a gamble for me: I've always been plus size and have avoided anything bodycon for exactly that reason, afraid that any piece that shows off the parts of my body I'm proud of would ALSO suction around all those lumps and bumps that make me self-conscious.
I took the plunge with this dress based on the fact the XL almost exactly fits my measurements, but also because the price is so so reasonable for such a lovely little dress. I slipped it on the first time expecting to be disappointed by how it showed me off... and was nearly overwhelmed by how GOOD the dress made me look and feel!
The silhouette is very sleek and very sexy, but it keeps classy with that little bit of sleeve, the high collar, and the length of the dress itself. I was expecting something like this to be short and flirty, but the hemline actually comes down nearly to my knees- perfect for a Saturday night when I'm working behind the bar!
The fabric is thick enough I feel as though I won't get bowled over by a cool breeze, and the pattern is a very fine tooth black shimmer, subtle but nice to the touch and with a sheen that catches my curves. Sure there's a little pudge I notice here and there... but the dress does such an amazing job enunciating my chest, hips, and thighs I don't even CARE!!
